THE SPIRIT OF VIZAG SOCIETY, registered under the Society Act of 1860, was
established in the year 2023 under the visionary guidance Sri KN. KUMAR IAS
Former additional chief secretery to government of megalaya, chairman meghalaya
farmers (empowerment) commission and under the leardership of Sri
Y.CH.Dorababu The Society aims to achieve the following objectives
i. To improve the quality of life of the rural population, improve the
infrastructure of the rural areas, reduce unemployment by providing
opportunities for employment and provide clean water, education
facilities, electricity, and proper communication.
ii. To provide physical and mental sense of fulfillment to the general
population of Vizag.
iii. To engage in all activities that will give a sense of spiritual fulfilment to
the people of Vizag through games and cultural activities including fine
arts and literature.
iv. To promote livelihoods to the youth of region through skill development
programs, self-employment programmes, etc.
v. To carry on any activity or activities of a charitable nature and of public
interest and utility.
vi. To provide facilities for imparting formal, non-formal and moral education
to the children.
vii. Educational – to run, maintain or assist any educational, other
institutions or resource centers for guidance, counselling, or vocational
training or to grant individual scholarships for poor, deserving and needy
students for higher education.
viii. To form, maintain, run, develop, improve, extend, and grant funds
for establishing Information centers, libraries, community halls,
recreation centers to serve the needy public in whatsoever manner it is
deemed fit and appropriate.
ix. Health sector – to run, maintain or assist any medical institutions, nursing
homes or clinics or to grant assistance to needy and indigent persons
for meeting the cost of medical treatment. To organize community health
programs, sanitation, maternity, child health, women welfare
programmes and to conduct other welfare programs with the cooperation of national and international agencies.
x. Relief for the poor – to give financial or other assistance in kind by way
of distribution of books, notebooks, cloths, uniforms, or meals for the
poor and indigent and to the persons suffer due to natural calamities.
xi. General public utility – to acquire property for the sole use of public good
for example, a library, medical clinic, crèche and housing seminars, and
other public functions for benefit of the community in general.
xii. To address, whenever possible, issues affecting human life such as (but
not limited to) the environment, socio-economic aspects, and women’s
issues.
xiii. To assist people during natural calamities like cyclones, fire accidents,
Tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados, and such other large-scale disasters
that require human intervention.
xiv. To undertake welfare programmes for the elderly, homes to the destitute
women and disabled persons, physically challenged, aged and mentally
retarded, orphanages and other social welfare centers, and extension of
any other types of such charitable institutions.
xv. To Promote and develop renewable energy technology appropriate to
rural areas (e.g. hybrid power systems, solar home systems for remote
villages) and to improve access to affordable and sustainable energy.
xvi. Conduct programs to promote the objectives of the trust such as
fundraising, print, publish and may think desirable for the promotion of its objectives.
